Matthew Z. Wood hails from North Carolina, and lives in Spokane, WA with his wife and daughter. He has 14 years experience in academic and public libraries, and received his MLS from UNC in 2011. Most recently he worked in IT in the Durham County Library in Durham, NC. Since his move West, Matthew has spent his time writing and blogging. He has written for webcomics, and was the co-creator of “The Dada Detective.” More recently, Wood authored 3 articles in Dr. Sheena Howard’s Encyclopedia of Black Comics, and completed his first academic book– Comic Book Collections and Programming: A Practical Guide for Librarians. Wood also currently reviews comics for the library-friendly website “No Flying, No Tights.”
