An interdisciplinary researcher across the humanities and technology, Lisa Tagliaferri holds a PhD in comparative literature from the City University of New York and an MSc in computer science from the University of London. She is currently a Visiting Scholar at Rutgers University and has previously held postdoctoral digital humanities research positions at MIT and Harvard University’s Villa I Tatti. In industry, she builds teams, technical resources, and open source software in the tech startup space, and has written popular open access books and tutorials on Python, machine learning, Linux, and cloud infrastructure, drawing over 45 million global readers. Throughout her work, she advocates for greater technical literacy across communities; taking a long view of innovation and access that dates back to the 14th century. Education
