Kate Faber Oestreich is a Professor of English at Coastal Carolina University. Her research focuses on the intersections of British literature of the long nineteenth century, adaptation, multimodality, and immersive interaction. She co-authored Transmedia Storytelling: Pemberley Digital’s Adaptations of Jane Austen and Mary Shelley (2018) with Jennifer Camden. Her scholarship has appeared in Adaptation, Brontë Studies, Nineteenth Century Studies, Victorians Institute Journal, South Atlantic Review, and in edited collections such as Neo-Victorian Madness and Straight Writ Queer, among other venues.
Oestreich serves as a Pedagogy Consultant for the Collaborative Organization for Virtual Education (COVE), Executive Secretary for the North American Victorian Studies Association, and Deputy Associate Director (Digital) for the Centre of Nineteenth-Century Studies International. She also sits on the boards of the International Nineteenth-Century Studies Association, Interdisciplinary Nineteenth-Century Studies, and the Nineteenth-Century Studies Association.
