About
Jennifer Roth Miller is a student and graduate research associate in the Texts and Technology Doctoral Program at the University of Central Florida. Jennifer’s interests explore the convergence of philanthropy, corporate social responsibility, and cause-based marketing in socially constructing collective views on issues such as health, lifestyle, and community. In particular, Jennifer is studying awareness ribbons as texts that serve in this capacity. Jennifer has researched specific causes, ribbons as memes and a genre, and developed technology mediations to promote social justice. Jennifer’s current projects involve digital privacy and domestic violence, cancer awareness, Holocaust remembrance, and social media’s relationship to access and pedagogy. Finally, Jennifer’s work stresses the requisite for critical and rhetorical literacies.
