Geoffrey Gimse holds a PhD in Professional and Technical Communication from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and a masters in English pedagogy and writing from Northern Michigan University. His research interests include the social impacts of digital architecture, data structures, media management systems, and participatory culture in online and offline spaces.

In addition to his research, he works with in the nonprofit space supporting agencies and organizations that are focused on helping those experiencing homelessness.
