Azalia Muchransyah is a filmmaker, writer, and scholar from Indonesia who is pursuing a Ph.D. in Media Study at University at Buffalo, SUNY. She receives two Fulbright scholarships: the 2011 Fulbright Foreign Language Teaching Assistant and the 2017 DIKTI-Funded Fulbright Ph.D. Scholarship. She is a 2019 Social Impact Fellow at University at Buffalo, SUNY, and a 2019 Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival Diversity Scholar at Ithaca College. Her area of interest is affordances of activism and advocacy in media ecology, specifically in Indonesian prison settings. Her short films have been officially selected and screened in international festivals and academic conferences.
