Sarah Mann-O’Donnell is a 2025 graduate of Northwestern University. She holds a PhD in Comparative Literary Studies, with a Certificate in Critical Theory. The title of her dissertation is Haptic Vision: Thinking Perceptual Impairment From Sophocles to Artaud. In the months following her defense, she is co-editing a special issue of Modern Language Notes, with Samuel Weber. Her own contribution to that volume is entitled “Point of Access: Translating Freud’s “Prohibition on Touch.”” Most recently, she gave a paper at the Rousseau Association Conference, at Rutgers University, presenting part of her chapter on Rousseau; her paper title was “Accent and Error in the Neuchâtel Essay.“
