    Dr. Richard Marciano is the recipient of the distinguished Emmett Leahy Award for pioneering work in the field of records and information management. His work focuses on the development of innovative methodologies, experimental systems, and analytics, to produce new knowledge and new ways to understand the past. Dr. Marciano is the founder and director of the Advanced Information Collaboratory (AIC). The AIC is an international community network of partners passionate about fostering Computational Archival Science (CAS) research and exploring the opportunities and challenges of disruptive technologies for archives and records management. Dr. Marciano was also founder and director of the UMD iSchool Digital Curation Innovation Center (DCIC) from 2015-2020.
