About
Hannah Mendro (she/her) is an interdisciplinary scholar and wordplay enthusiast and recent graduate from the Master’s in Cultural Studies program at the University of Washington Bothell. She has always been fascinated with language, reading, and storytelling in a variety of forms. Her research background is in reading and translation, but her current focus is on media studies with a focus in transformative fandom. She also works as a staff member at the University of Washington Bothell/Cascadia College library, where she works with the library collections, provides support for digital scholarship projects, and co-facilitates the
Community Reads program. The question that encapsulates the majority of her research interests is, “How do we read?”
