    Abstract:
    The ongoing conflict between Russia and Ukraine has raised concerns about the violation of international law, particularly the prohibition of the use of force to resolve disputes. By analyzing the justifications presented by Russia within the framework of international law, this article contributes to the broader discourse on the conflict and underscores the significance of adherence to established legal principles in the pursuit of peaceful resolutions. The potential legal consequences of the conflict are also explored, considering the UN Charter, international humanitarian law, the Geneva Convention, and the doctrines of jus ad bellum and jus contra bellum. The justifications put forth by Russia are analyzed within the framework of the UN Charter, international humanitarian law, the Geneva Convention, and the doctrines of jus ad bellum and jus contra bellum. The Russia-Ukraine conflict serves as a vivid reminder of the challenges faced by the international community in preserving the rule of law and preventing the use of force to settle disputes. It highlights the importance of upholding international law to maintain global peace and stability and emphasizes the need for accountability for any breaches of legal norms.
