    Abstract:
As trees everywhere are threatened by human caused environmental impacts, we lament their demise, and make our heated, pointed remarks about conservation and change. During a self-directed Summer sabbatical to the island of Samos Greece, where trees of any kind are struggling and rare, I painted a series of trees with sharply pointed branches, screaming back. Yet another tree fell in the forest. Did anyone hear?
    Notes:
Contains the personal narrative and examples of original paintings by June Julian that record the impact of acid rain on trees in Samos, Greece, and by extension, on forests everywhere.
