    Abstract:
    The enormous interest that justifiably awakens the figure of Jean Laurent and his photographic work, not only among photohistorians but also in those who are interested in the many facets of cultural life of the nineteenth century in Spain, even in the general public, corresponds in reality to the large number of studies that he has been the subject of over the past twenty years. However, there was still one aspect of his professional work pending study in depth: stereoscopic photography. A format in which he made a very important part of his production, about twenty percent of all his work, which in the huge amount of images produced by the Laurent Company represents approximately one thousand four hundred images, the largest collection of stereoscopic photographs made in the nineteenth century in Spain.

    Quedaba aún un aspecto por estudiar de la importante obra del fotógrafo francés, afincado en españa, Jean Laurent: La fotografía estereoscópica. Un formato en el que realizó una parte muy importante de su producción, alrededor de un veinte por ciento de toda su obra, que en la ingente cantidad de las imágenes debidas a la Casa Laurent supone aproximadamente mil cuatrocientas imágenes, la mayor colección de fotografías estereoscópicas realizada en el diecinueve español.
