    Abstract:
    This work analyzes the book Inteligencia militar y subversión armada (1968) of Venezuelan General Carlos Soto Tamayo (1917-2000), within the context of Latin American military thought about unconventional warfare. In this sense, the research addresses the problem of the conception of war during the Cold War, especially the sixties, for military research and professional career of the author, the notion of conflict and its structure in the written work. Finally, to confront the author’s ideas in his book with the warlike context of Venezuela and the works produced by the Latin American laws of the time.
