- Abstract:
_________________________________________________________________________________________________ English abstract: 'Ucho' (The Ear), a film by Karel Kachyňa (1970) is a foreshadowing of 'The Lives of Others', on the Czech NKVD, but with a peculiar aesthetics—a film half-way between documentary realism and the grotesque, somewhat like a crossbreed between '1984' and 'Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf', combining satire and experimental cinematography. We focus here on some aspects of the use of point of view and camera work.
