    Abstract:
    Decentralized finance (DeFi) is gaining traction as a tool for smaller businesses in emerging markets, particularly for remittances and small loans; the transaction banking industry is beginning to recognize DeFi's potential to overcome the inflexibility of current processes; DeFi adoption in transaction banking could open up new capital possibilities for larger businesses and raise liquidity for SMEs.
