- Abstract:
_____________________________________________________________________________________________________ English abstract: This paper comments some elements of self-begetting in the Old English epic 'Beowulf'. The motif of literary self-begetting emerges spontaneously out of the very nature of narration—or perhaps one should say that the poem registers the natural emergence of artistic narrative out of the social practices which gave rise to it, and whose trace is preserved as a part of the work itself. The archaeology of its own genesis is thus part and parcel of the memorable work of art.
