    Abstract:
Available statistical data bas shown low level of women participation in scientific, technological and mathematical activities. This paper examines and investigates the factors responsible for the observed trend. Literature and interview are used for the study methodology. The findings show that, there is not gender bias in terms of policy in women education in STM in Nigerian Universities, but gender discrimination exists against women scientists, technologists/ engineers and mathematicians in terms of employment opportunities in industrial sector. The low level of women participation in STM education is attributable to sociological than biological factors, since prychological evidence shows that women have equal cognitive ability with men, Hence for effective and efficient participation of women in STM activities, government at all levels; NGOs, parents and society at large must be involved in active awareness campaign and encouragement to change the status quo.
