    Abstract:
This investigation uses 4 different oil samples to evaluate their effect on the growth of algae. The four oils being used are of an industrial nature, Petrol, Diesel, Kerosene and Machine Oil. Not only are these some of the most common oils used, they are also oils that are transported by shipping barrels and underwater pipelines; which can sometimes rupture and leak, causing massive spills. At the end of the day, it is these oils that actually cause the most damage.
