    Abstract:
Neuss: Bruno Buike 2010, 213 p. - multilingual - E25 - full title: Puer natus in Bethlehem - Ein Kind gebor`n zu Betlehem - A child was born / A boy was born - - (with Introitus "Puer natus est nobis") - Research Exposee And Bibliographical Survey - From Catholic Gregorian chant to crip-play, from Protestant Germany to Scandinavia, (Polish-)Lithuania, Poland and North-America -xx-After this research it was possible, to form a new thesis, that the melody of Qurinus-Song of Patron Saint of Neuss, Germany it NOT from 19th century, but MAY BE LATE GREGORIAN . In other words: regarding "puer natus" we have a nearly seamless time-line, where we can attach to specific points in time specific witnesses on paper. For instance: If we generally say, that at around 1380 we have change from authentic Gregorian to late Gregorian PLUS a change in language from LATIN to national language, we in THIS example can show witnesses on paper for such statements. So we from this example may get decisive search directions for other songs, what to expect in witnesses ... --xx--- This was the preparatory work for edition of lots of musical settings for practical use, both by choir and instrumental ensembles.
