    Abstract:
    The gig economy is the rising demand in India, the COVID-19 and posts COVID-19 scenario witness much employed & labour have lost their jobs, now they are skillful unemployed labour of the country. The paper talks about the Gig Economy which is a free market system in which common or organizations hire an independent worker for a temporary or a short period. The Gig Economy is a platform for the temporary contract workers, which beliefs in hire and fire theory.. In the paper, you find laws and Rights for the freelancers on which a freelancer legally work with anyone on the contract basis laws such as The Contract Act, 1970 and Minimum Wage Act,1948 you will get in detail, the paper also provides the statistics study for the Need of Gig economy which provides all the essential information for Gig growth and development. Here, you will also find the data analysis of COVID-19 destruction to the world economy, the negative growth in GDPs of different at every lockdown level. Drawbacks of Gig economy as it is a new norm of employment which will be a new normal.
