- Abstract:
- Thematic networks, online discussions, information sharing between policy makers, experts and professionals demand a change in concepts that today are taken for granted. The current concepts of "sustainability", "needs", "development", "economy", and “progress" are controversial and vary according to different cultures and ideologies. Several technical reports are issued annually by international organizations on the serious environmental problems faced around the world and current economic and political policies. Would these reports effectively inspire policymakers to act accordingly and develop proficiency and a willingness to implement the changes to reshape relations between humans and Earth?
- Notes:
- Returning the Earth to humanity and humanity to the Earth are complementary aspects and must be promoted simultaneously in space and time for their mutual support. The problems and the contexts in which they occur must be reinterpreted and restructured through an ecosystem lens, thus changing the ways of facing them.
