    Abstract:
    From a speech for the conference "L'estetica nel pensiero tardo-antico, medievale e umanistico" (Salerno 2012), an article scheduled for a volume with the conference proceedings (unpublished). It analyzes the concept of "pulchritudo" of artificial images in Augustine's "De vera religione" and in the Libri Carolini.
