- Abstract:
- The book is dedicated to the paradoxical era of the relationship between the Vainakhs and the Soviet state. The study opens with a description of the utopian attempts of the communist government to realize the old imperial dream: to evict the "restless" Chechens and Ingush outside the North Caucasus, to populate the liberated territories with more "calm" peoples, and in places of special settlements - in the steppes and mountains of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan - to create (practically on bare place) a new "modernized" atomized ethnos controlled by the NKVD. The book ends with the history of the return of the Vainakhs to the Caucasus in the 1950s, consideration of the socio-cultural problems of the restoration of the Chechen-Ingush autonomy. Книга посвящена парадоксальной эпохе взаимоотношений вайнахов и советского государства. Исследование открывается описанием утопических попыток коммунистической власти воплотить старую имперскую мечту: выселить «беспокойных» чеченцев и ингушей за пределы Северного Кавказа, заселить освободившиеся территории более «спокойными» народами, а в местах спецпоселений — в степях и горах Казахстана и Киргизии — создать (практически на голом месте) новый «осовеченный», подконтрольный НКВД атомизированный этнос. Заканчивается книга историей возвращения вайнахов на Кавказ в 1950-е гг., рассмотрением социокультурных проблем восстановления чечено-ингушской автономии.
