- Abstract:
_____________________________________________________ English abstract: Andrzej Wajda's historical film on the Katyn massacre provides a terrifying picture of 20th-century totalitarian régimes, of the moral and political horrors of the Communist dictatorships in the USSR and in Poland. It memorably portrays the circumstances which lead people to either curb their will and their conscience, or to resist and raise the flag of truth and principles, instead of accomodating to dreary reality, to official lies, and to the will of the powerful.
