    Abstract:
Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED©) is a certification used to assess the degree of environmental sustainability attained by a project. However, LEED© has an impact not only on the technical specifications, but also on design. The objective of this paper is to evaluate what the impact of its version for neighborhoods (LEED© ND) is. We have chosen Parque da Cidade as a case study, which is a project of aflalo/gasperini architects in São Paulo located in Chucri Zaidan Avenue, a zone that has consolidated as a corporate center in the city. To do this, we have used literature review about the New Urbanism, an urban design movement that worked on the creation of LEED© ND, as well as the analysis of Parque da Cidade’s points in the certification. We will argue that some credits are avoided, notably those that could change the corporate landscape here examined, thereby reaffirming the habitual design strategies.
