    Abstract:
Print-friendly remediation and backup copy of my course site for "Digital Public Humanities," part of the Spring 2016 offerings in the Public Humanities MA program at Brown University. Course web site can be found here: http://digitalpublichumanities.jimmcgrath.us/. While not the first DH course offered at Brown or the first course in Public Humanities to focus in part on digital contexts for public humanities, this course is the first to be offered at the university under the explicit heading of "Digital Public Humanities." Major topics covered includes: "pre-contexts" for digital public humanities (hypertext, humanities computing, digital history, media studies); media, digital media, and digital interfaces; archives and digital archives; analog and digital crowdsourcing, data, big data, and data curation; social media; mapping: data, design, and curation; and project development. Students posted several blog posts during the semester, including descriptions of digital project prototypes (blog posts available on course site). Students also created Twitter bots during an in-class workshop.
