    Abstract:
This article examines the representation of kneeling in a psalter of ca. 1290 from the region of Amiens (Bibliothèque nationale de France MS lat. 10435). In this illuminated manuscript, traditional images of devotional kneeling contrast with representations of men kneeling to profess romantic love.
