    Abstract:
This syllabus is my fifth version of a course aimed at introducing the digital humanities at an undergraduate level. In consultation with my colleagues, I decided that this year's version should also include a unit that looked at digital objects with a humanities perspective. The course is organized around four projects, each of which is oriented by a theoretical reading: mapping a novel; writing about video games; creating composite images from digital films; and text digitization, extraction, and analysis from a large, in-copyright corpus.
    Notes:
This version of the syllabus is what I passed out on the first day of class. For updates to the schedule and for the work of the class, see the course website: http://briancroxall.net/f18dh/. Those interested in the evolution of this class should look for the Fall 2011 syllabus on the same subject, which was my original effort; the Spring 2014 revision (v2.0);, the Spring 2015 revision (v2.1);, and the Fall 2017 revision (v3.0). I consider this version 3.5.
