    Abstract:
The article offers an analysis of a selection of English translations e.g. by Isaac Watts and Francis Mahony, written from the late 17th to the early 19th century, of Maciej Kazimierz Sarbiewski's poems referring to Polish-Turkish wars of the early 17th century. The article offers an explanation of the attitudes presented by the translators to the original work in the historical context of the periods when the originals and translations were created.
